When we needed a place to host in-person co-working sessions for our Make Writing Your Job subscribers in LA — live events, laptops out, coffee on us — we picked Bricks & Scones on Larchmont. Five receipts from one trip say we kept coming back even without the excuse.

Bricks & Scones is the best outdoor work environment I know in Los Angeles: a genuinely lovely patio, drinks that hold up over a long writing block, and a room that treats laptops as guests rather than pests.

What to Order at Bricks & Scones

Between our own sessions and the subscriber events, the receipts cover half the drink menu: lattes, an iced mocha, a chai, and — the tea-drinker’s corner I personally occupy — a London Fog and an English Rose, both happily made with soy. Coffee-free people are first-class citizens here, which matters to me (I quit coffee years ago — long story, documented).
