Some receipts read like a meal. Our Layla Bagels receipt reads like a research program: three different bagel sandwiches, each ordered as a half, plus a filter coffee to keep the tasting panel upright.

Layla Bagels is incredible, and their newer Beverly Hills location (233 S Beverly Dr) makes the pilgrimage easy. The halves strategy is the pro move: you get to cross-examine the menu in one sitting.

What to Order at Layla Bagels

Our sampler flight, straight from the receipt:

  • The Laika on half an everything bagel — the flagship for a reason
  • The Pre-Jam on half a sesame, subbed with their cashew cream cheese (v) — the plant-based swap holds up beautifully
  • The Lily on half an everything, cashew cream cheese again — because once you know they do it well, you test it twice

Three half-sandwiches and a filter coffee ran about $32. For Beverly Hills, that’s practically a public service.
