MY COMMITMENT

I want everyone to be able to read my work, book a call, or preorder a book here without fighting the website to do it. That includes people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, voice control, screen magnification, or captions. Accessibility is part of how this site gets built and maintained, and this page tells you where things stand.

THE STANDARD I WORK TO

I aim for this site to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. In September 2026 the site was audited against that standard with automated testing (axe-core) on every type of page, along with manual keyboard, zoom, and phone-size testing. The problems that audit found were fixed in the site’s own code. I don’t use an accessibility overlay widget.

WHAT IS IN PLACE

Every page has a Skip to Content link, labeled landmarks, and one main heading. Both site menus open and close from the keyboard, and Escape closes them. Keyboard focus is always visible. Text and button colors meet AA contrast ratios. Form fields have real labels, and confirmations and errors are announced to screen readers. Pages reflow down to 320 pixels wide without sideways scrolling, and the site respects your reduced motion setting. Embedded videos and maps have titles.

KNOWN LIMITATIONS

This site holds more than a decade of posts, so some older content falls short. Image descriptions on older posts can be generic. Some embedded videos may not have accurate captions. Embedded content from other companies, such as YouTube, Google Maps, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Substack, is controlled by those providers, and I can’t fix problems inside their players. Some downloadable files may not be fully accessible yet. If you run into any of these, tell me and I will get you the content another way.
