Sightglass LA Review: The Trendy Roastery Off La Brea

A spiced latte in a compostable cup inside the cavernous Sightglass roastery off La Brea in Los Angeles

Sightglass LA: industrial-cathedral energy, latte to match.

Sightglass started as a San Francisco roastery, which means I get to feel smug about it in Los Angeles — a rare and precious reversal.

The LA outpost off La Brea is really trendy, really cool, and really good at drinks and pastries — including legitimately good gluten-free options, which earns automatic bonus points in my book (see: the whole saga).

The Seat Situation

Fair warning: it’s really hard to find seats. This is a gorgeous, cavernous roastery that half of Los Angeles has also discovered, so treat it as a grab-drinks-and-pastries stop rather than a settle-in workspace — or come at an odd hour and win the seating lottery. Either way, the drinks justify the visit.

The Verdict on Sightglass LA

  • Best for: Great drinks + GF pastries in maximum-trendy surroundings
  • Know before you go: Seats are scarce; plan to grab-and-go or arrive off-peak
  • Where: Off La Brea (Google Maps) · sightglasscoffee.com

Sightglass is walkable from the Fairfax–La Brea base camp in my LA travel guide — and sits on my best of LA list alongside its fellow caffèine landmarks.
