Every city needs a dessert spot you save for when the day deserves an ending, and ours is Naya Dessert Cafe on Octavia.

Naya is absolutely incredible, and the Mango Tango is the whole point: mango sticky rice reimagined as shaved ice — not just the dessert you know, but the cold, fluffy, spoon-racing version of it. We love that thing. The receipts show a return visit, because of course they do.

What to Order at Naya

  • Mango Tango — the mango-sticky-rice shaved ice. Non-negotiable, best shared, honestly best not shared.
  • Green Tea Pudding — super solid, with one honest asterisk: it’s green tea, which means caffeine, which means maybe not the 9pm order if you’re hoping to sleep like a person. Speaking as this blog’s resident matcha owl: plan accordingly.
