My Father’s Kitchen, the small Vietnamese spot at 1655 Divisadero St, makes great coffee and a great Thai iced tea — the drinks alone are worth the stop. It’s two doors from Emmita’s Cafe, which turns this stretch of Divisadero into a complete morning: burrito at one door, Thai tea at the other.

What to Order at My Father's Kitchen

The Thai iced tea and the Vietnamese coffee are the play. There’s pho and chicken satay on the menu if you’re settling in, and a small, no-frills dining room if you need a seat. The honest read: come for the drinks, keep your ambience expectations at neighborhood level, leave happy.
