Emmita's Cafe Review: The Divisadero Breakfast Burrito

A breakfast burrito halved on a plate like the ones at Emmita's Cafe on Divisadero

Every stretch of this city needs the counter spot that has weekday mornings handled. On Divisadero, that’s Emmita’s.

Emmita’s Cafe is the grab-and-go counter at 1635 Divisadero St with great breakfast burritos, good green juice, and a Mexican caramel latte worth the detour — and it runs weekdays only. It comes from the team behind Breakfast Little, it’s named for the owner’s mother, and it closes on weekends entirely. Consider it the brunch you earn by working from home.

What to Order at Emmita's

The breakfast burritos are the headline, and they earn it. I round mine out with a green juice (very on brand for me), and the Mexican caramel latte is the move when the fog calls for cinnamon.

Fair warning on ambience: there’s solid seating inside, but this is not a fancy place. It’s a get-your-burrito-and-go place, and it knows exactly what it is.

The Verdict on Emmita's

  • Best for: Weekday breakfast burrito needs · green-juice chasers
  • My order: A breakfast burrito, a green juice, and the Mexican caramel latte
  • Know before you go: Weekdays only, roughly 7am–3pm — closed Saturday and Sunday
  • Where: 1635 Divisadero St (Google Maps)

Two doors down, My Father’s Kitchen pours the block’s great Thai iced tea — and Emmita’s holds a spot on my best brunch in San Francisco list.
